I think your problem is not identity though. You and I share similar beginnings since neither of us were personality/identity forced, but you are in this state

If you're suicidal, I think this extends beyond tulpamancy
I honestly like the idea of being based on a character, but im too hyper for most of the characters i know, and im too #broken for some of the more hyoer characters.
Oh, and I'm not sure how you feel about being emotional, but I am too. If you feel distressed, let it out somewhere, even if it's just out loud IRL, or written down somewhere (on the computer or physically)

You wanna get those feelings out somewhere

It's helpful

I think as a first step towards becoming a person, you look at some names and choose a name that you like

It doesn't matter what it is

And you can change it later

But having a name to associate with yourself helps a lot
If you feel like you don’t have a personality or identity just assign yourself one. Doesn’t matter if it feels wrong or doesn’t apply to yourself. Nothing will apply because you don’t have anything yet. Tulpamancy is basically just fake it until you make it.
the way introjects work from our experience is that the brain looks at the picture, "feels" what that person is like (are they nice, do they seem like something i've seen in the anime, what are nice people like that in anime like, etc etc) and attaches some streotypes and mental constructs that the brain feels are close to that character and builds identity with that

so form can definitely drive the formation of identity

I feel it worked like that with myself.
